Going to my poppop's house

Hi friends! Guess what I am doing tonight? Mommy and daddy are taking me to Poppop's house. Poppop is mommy's grandfather, but he is really more like another daddy to her. He lives 1 block from the beach, which is my favorite place to be.

But, his beach doesn't allow doogs on it. I know, that is gross descrimination. I am looking into legal representation in my wrongful descrimination suit, but until then, I am not allowed on that beach.

But, there is a special beach that is just a short car ride away that is just for doggies. I love it there! Usually there are other Vizsla dogs there, so I have friends to do fast running with. There is also a dog park for me to go to.

So, I guess you can see why I am so happy about going to Poppop's house. Plus, I like Poppop and love to run around his house because it is big and full of lots of good sniffs. And there are all kinds of old stuffies that I think should be mine.

One more thing. I want to say Happy Birthday to my Uncle Doug. He is who I am named after, so I really love him a lot. Mommy and daddy and I are going to his birthday party on Sunday. I am excited to see him and really excited to chase the cat that lives at his house.

See, I am a happy Vizsla!

Wordless Wednesday: Go go gadget tongue

I'm baaaaccccckkkkkk!

Hi there friends! Do you remember me? Douglas, the Vizsla. I know that I have been missing for a while now, but I am back now. Mommy had a lot going on and well, she was just plain lazy in helping me with my blog. After hours and hours of whining, mommy agreed that I need a creative outlet for my energy, so I am back in the blogging world.

So what have I been doing? Well, I got a new foster brother, James Bond, right around Christmas time, but he already went to his forever home. I am cool with that because he liked to do humpies on me all of the time. Then my friend Jed, the Boston terrorer, came to stay with us while his mommy and daddy went on a cruise. Jed is fun, but guess what? He likes to do humpies on me too. Craziness.

Mommy was sick and had to have a surgery, but I was there to nurse her back to health. Well, actually I wanted to give her lots of hugs, but daddy said that I needed to stay with all four on the ground because of her incisions. When James Bond has his neuter incision, he was able to play with me. Mommy must be a big baby.

Anyway, I know that there was a lot more that happened while I was on my bloggy break, but that is the major stuff.

Wait, Uncle Doug moved in with us too. I am named after him because he is daddy's bestest friend. Uncle Doug lived with us for a while, which was great because he loved to play with me. He did move back out, but he still comes over to see me all of the time.

And now some pictures.
My foster brother James Bond. He is a GSP, whatever that means.

A happy Doug.

It's Beach Time!

Hi friends! So, a couple of weeks ago mommy and daddy took me down to the shore to visit Poppop at his house. Now I like to go visit Poppop and occasionally get to go out for some ice cream, but the bestest part of going there is going to Dog Beach.

Dog Beach is this super awesome place where there is sand, tall grass, water, waves, birds, and lots of friends. My favoritest thing to do there is poo. Mommy and daddy joke that I must like the wind on my butt at the beach, but honestly there is nothing better than being one with nature.

Mommy brought along her trusty camera as she is on my payroll as my personal photographer. She gets all of the loves and snugs she can handle in exchange for her photography skills. This dog beach trip was fun, but it was pretty cold out and there were only a few friends there. And one of those wasn't even really a friend because he tried to pick fights with the other dogs. I like to stay out of trouble seeing how I am a lover not a fighter, so I just did my own thing.

As you can see here, running around is a great thing to do at the beach.

The water was cold, but I still went in for a quick dip.

A little blurry, but you can see how happy I was to be there. P.S. Those fluffy white cloud looking things behind me are not food. I tried one even though mommy said no because she sometimes says I can't have super yummy things because she is stingy and wants them for herself. This time I should have just let her have them.

Look at that handsome fella on the beach!

I'm Back!

Hello friends! I know it has been a while, so if you forget me, I am Douglas K. the Vizsla. My mommy has been very very busy with a new office and lots of other things, so I have not had access to a computer for a very long time. At night, which is perfect blogging time for me, my daddy hogs the computer watching something called Netflix.

BUT, I am back and hopefully for good. So, how have you all been? I have been a very busy dog going for runs, trying out at a new agility school, going on trips, meeting new friends, chasing birds, rolling in good smelling stuff, hanging out outside, and just being my normal happy self.

I have lots of new adventures and stories that I have been saving for when my selfish mommy and daddy gave me back my computer time, so I have lots to tell you. I also have lots of other blogs to stop by and say hi on.

Well, there is a peanut butter kong with my name on it, so I am going to go do some serious licking, but I will see you all soon!

I will leave you with a very serious picture of me on the beach. Running and chasing waves is very serious business as you can see.
