Douglas the Contractor

Hi Friends! I hope that you all had a nice weekend. This weekend was very cold here, so I did not get to do a whole lot outside. Saturday mommy and daddy did take me to the flea market. Fortunately, I did not get any fleas there, but I did get to be petted by lost of new friends. It was really cold and I started to shiver, so we did not get to stay very long. Now mommy wants to buy me jacket. I am not to sure about that, but hey, anything for me makes me happy.

Anyway, Sunday mommy and daddy bought a bookshelf for the living room. When they brought it home it was in lots of boxes. They said they had to put it together. Of course, I wanted to help. After all, I am Douglas the Vizsla and we Vizslas are known for our carpentry skills. Oh wait, I think that we are known for our hunting skills or running around like crazy dog skills, but I will be known for my awesome carpentry skills.

Here is me pretending not to be interested in the assembly.

Here is me showing mommy where the shelf goes.

And here is where I went after I tried to steal the directions and then jumped on one of the boxes.

The nerve of them. I bet Bob Villa was never treated like that. Anyway, if anyone needs an expert Carpenter Vizlsa, I am a phone call away.

Perfume

Hi Friends! Sorry for my lack of posts lately. Mommy has been busy working and I have been busy doing my usual.

So, this morning on my normally scheduled walk, I ran into a beautiful aroma. I believe it was a mixed of dead animal and poop. Having a refined palate such as mine, I decided the best way to enjoy this lovely smell, was to do some heavy duty rolling in it. Mommy was not happy. She said I smelled bad. I would not expect someone like her to understand because she does not have the refined palate like me. She spends lots of money on "fancy" perfumes, when she could just go out back and find something even better to put on.

Anyway, mommy made me take a bath. I like baths, but I do not like having my yummy smell washed off of me. I worked really hard rolling to get just the right amount of smell on me to enjoy all day. After I got my bath, mean mommy put me in my crate for the day. She didn't even use the hair blower thingy. As you can see, I was not too happy with her.

If anyone knows how to open a crate, could you come bust me out? How could you resist this face?

My Favoritest Toy Ever!

Hi Friends! Guess what daddy pulled out last night? My most favoritest toy ever, the laser pointer. I can chase that thing for hours. Daddy keeps it in the drawer, but as soon as I hear it open, I come running. If you don't currently have a laser pointer to run around for, I suggest you ask Santa Paws for one this year. Look how much fun it is:

Watching it on the wall.

Action shot!

Almost got it.

Oh man, it's in the closet!

Where'd it go?

So, there you go friends! Laser pointer = hours of fun (as long as your daddy's finger doesn't get tired or your mommy yells about you ripping up the carpet).

Vacation

Hi Friends! I hope that you all had a nice and happy Thanksgiving. I sure did! I wanted to update my blog while I was on vacation, but the Lady does not have Internet at the house and the only place to get it was the grocery store. They don't allow dogs, which in the words of the great Dennis the Vizsla, is gross discrimination.

I had lots of fun down in South Carolina! Mommy found a dog park right near the Lady's condo, so I got to go everyday. But mommy was bad and forgot the camera, so these are the only pictures I have from there. As you can see,I wasn't interested in posing, I wanted to play with my new friends.

Daddy took me to the beach for some fun in the ocean. Except, the ocean was cold! I only got a little wet. Gracie and I ran and ran and played until we crashed into daddy and I hurt my ribs. That was his sign that it was time to go back. Of course, daddy does not do pictures, but here is an old one of me on the beach.

I had my own bag of my things that mommy packed me. All of the necessities are there: food, bowls, kongs, squeaky ball, Tug-a-Jug, bones, and a beach towel. I helped, can you tell?

Remy was not too mean, but I am still pretty unsure about that guy. I think he might be jealous of my good looks and svelte body.

The Lady and John took more pictures, so I will post them later. I am just waiting for mommy to get them for me.

P.S. Please keep my bestest friend Zoe in your prayers. She is having surgery today and I hope she is better soon!

Long Time, No Post

Hi Friends! Sorry that I have not blogged in a while. Mommy and daddy are working a lot to get ready for vacation, so I have been unfortunately in my crate more than normal. I am still working on trying to open it on my own, but so far, no luck.

So, like I said, we are going on vacation tomorrow! I am so excited!!!! Mommy, daddy, and I are going to Myrtle Beach, SC for Thanksgiving. If you didn't guess, they have a beach there, my favorite. Here are some pictures of me on the beach from last time we were there.

Jumping waves

Doggy Surfing

Just plain happy!

The only bad thing about vacation....that meanie Remy is coming too. I hope he is nicer to me, I don't like rolling on my back for him. Maybe Gracie and I will get some quality time to run on the golf course there.
