More Fun with Gracie

Hi friends! Happy Friday. That means that I get to have my mommy all to myself in just one day. I am going to take her to the park, the pet store, to visit my friends, to a nice steak restaurant....oh wait, I can't drive legally yet, so I guess I will just go along with whatever she has planned. Supposedly mommy's friend my Aunt Marianne is puppy sitting another Vizsla, so we might go down and visit him.

Anyway, here are some more pictures of my fun with Gracie. When mommy put my leash on me to leave, Gracie decided it was her job to take me for a walk.

Humans only use the leash!

No, I will not come with you!

I said, leave me alone.

I don't think you know how to use a leash properly.

Fun Times with Gracie

Hi friends! Guess what? This weekend mommy took me up to her mommy's house. Now usually I get kind of scared there on account that they have a mean dog named Remy who makes me flip on my back and growls at me. Well, this weekend when mommy and I went, Remy was not there! Believed me, I looked everywhere for him.

Nope, not upstairs.

As you might have guessed, that made for one happy Vizsla.

Because there was no mean Remy there, Gracie and I were free play as we liked. I had a lot of fun with her!

A rare moment of calm.

Get off of me!

Ready to rumble.

Zooooommmmmmm!

Ready to attack.

Zoooommmmm back!

I will show you more tomorrow, especially what happened to me when mommy put my leash on to leave. But for now, some glamour shots!

What a handsome guy!

Gracie is pretty cute, if I don't say so myself.

In Honor of the Olympics

Hi friends! I hope that you all had a nice weekend. Mine was really fun. I am going to blog about it later in the week.

Friday night, mommy and daddy watched something called the Opening Ceremony of the Winter Olympics. I watched a little too, in between chewing my bone, chasing the dog in the bookshelf away, and tugging my jug. I noticed one thing about the Olympics, there are no Vizsla friendly sports. See what I mean.

1. Curling. Why would you want to run on ice, you can't go far. And you can't even chase that ball thing because it is too heavy. I do have to say that the people do a nice job of cleaning up after themselves with the sweeping and all/

2. Ski jump. They don't make bindings for little dog feet. Plus four skis for four legs might cause some problems.

3. Ice Dancing. I don't look good in spandex or sequins.

4. Skeleton. Speeding down an ice path on your belly head first, now I am a dog and that seems like a really bad idea to me. Enough said.

Well, because there seems to be no dog friendly sports in the Olympics, I propose three new events for the 2010 Winter Olympics.

1. Snow running.

2. Snow eating. I have the gold metal in the bag for this one.

3. Snow marking. Hehe!

I am going to officially petition for these new events to the Olympic people. I will keep you all posted!

On the Lookout for Spring

Hi friends! Well, we did get more white stuff yesterday. According to meteorologist Douglas K. Vizsla, we got about 3/4 a Doug of snow altogether. Now I like snow as much as the next dog, but this is a little too much for my liking.

It's hard to get around in.

It makes my belly cold.

Therefore, I am now on the lookout for spring! I am just going to wait here until I see it coming.

Oh wait, mom says no to that idea. Plus it is cold here. I guess I will just keep up my watch from the comfort of my house. There is a kong of peanut butter waiting for me!

Who Says Hot Chocolate is the Best for Snow Days

Hi friends! Guess what? Mommy said that we are supposed to get more snow tonight and tomorrow. I know many of you were impressed with my measuring system, so I will be sure to update you on how much snow we get or how much we have altogether.

So mommy says there is nothing better after playing in the snow then hot chocolate with marshmallows. Well, I am a dog and therefore not allowed to have chocolate, but I have found something even better after a nice romp in the snow. Bully Sticks!!!

Here I am enjoying a nice bully stick while my pee pee defrosts.

Warming up my paws by the bully stick.

Mom, you ready to go back out in the snow now?

Fun in the Snow!

Hi friends! Well, guess what? It did snow here this weekend and it snowed a lot. I am not too good with my measuring skills, but I can tell you that the snow comes up to my belly and makes my pee pee really cold. So, i say that we got half a Doug of snow.

Mommy took lots of pictures of me playing in the snow.

Can you see me?

Turning around!

Here I come!

Zoom!

Delicious snow!

Is there something on my nose?

No, I will not go inside now.

Snow is serious business.

No Dog Park Weekend

Hi friends! I hope you are having a good Friday! Mommy is working, but daddy is home with me today, so I am a happy little Vizsla. And guess what else? It is supposed to snow here. I am hoping to be enjoying a snow buffet later tonight.

The sad things about the snow is that I do not get to the dog park with my buddies Finn and Rogue tomorrow. Mommy said it is too far away and going to be too yucky to drive there. She better take me out to the fields tomorrow to make up for this or I am totally going to be a total nudge all day.

Here are some pictures of me at the dog park during nicer weather. Mommy and her friends complain that it is hard to take pictures of me because I never stop running. I think they just need to get a Vizsla friendly camera.

Here I am exploring.

Happily trotting around.

A zoom by! In the background you can see my other Vizlsa friend Rusty.

A special thank you to Rogue's mommy for the pictures. She seems to have a Vizsla quality camera. Mommy, you really need to look into one.

Agility Posse

Hi Friends! Well, today is Thursday and that means.......AGILITY! I love going to agility and have two really good buddies there. These pictures are from our agility Christmas party, that's why we have on our prong collars. I wear my normal collar to agilty most of the time. Mommy was very scared of the prong collar at first, but I don't mind it because I hardly ever pull now and if I do, it just gives me a little reminder that I shouldn't. It doesn't hurt me because mommy was trained on how to use it correctly and that made her feel a lot better.

Here is me and Finn. As you can see Finn is also a Vizsla, but he is the more serious kind.

Here is me, Finn, and Rogue who is an Entlebucher Mountain Dog. He is of the goofy side of the breed too.

Well, that is my agility posse. We go to the dog park together on Saturday mornings as well because we like to play with each other. If we try to play in agility class, we get in trouble, so we save the fun stuff for the dog park.

Anyway, here are some action shots of me doing my agility thing.

Table.....see, I can lay down, but I would rather be running.

Weaving off leash.

The Dog in the Bookcase

Hi Friends! The weather forecast here is calling for snow tonight. Snow is one of my most favoritest things ever. Paws crossed that the weather guys get it right and I get to wake up to the big fluffy stuff.

Anyway, the other night I was hanging out with mom and dad. I decided to go get my blankie which I had moved from my crate to the living room. When I went to reach down and pick it up, I noticed something weird. There was a dog in the bookcase! How did a dog get in there I wondered and why is he not coming out to play with me. The bookcase dog was a very handsome fellow and guess what? He had a blankie of his own.

Well, I got a little freaked out by the bookcase dog and decided I better tell him whose house this is. Mom took video of this. She says sorry for the clarity in the video (it was on her camera) and don't mind the dining room. Daddy painted it a color so bright that even though I am color blind, it hurts my eyes. It's a work in progress he says.

Birthday Treats

Hi friends! Well, while I was on my blog hiatus, I celebrated my 2nd birthday! Mommy and daddy bought me a few new yummy bones and a duck stuffie that flies. I also got to have a yummy ice cream cone as my birthday treat. Vanilla ice cream is my most favoritest thing in the world.

Anyway, about a week or so ago, I go a card in the mail from the dog store that mommy buys my food from and takes me to get treats and pets. It said "Happy Birthday Doug," so I knew it was for me. Mommy took a coupon with her yesterday to the store and got me some more dog food. I have to tell you, I have tried lots and lots of different foods, but Nature's Variety Instinct Duck is my most favoritest of them all. After all, I am a bird dog, so duck is super delicious.

Well, when mommy came home from the store, she had a special little bag with her. Pabby's sent me a special birthday cookie. Boy, was it a delicious one.

Blue because I am a boy!

Waiting patiently for my treat. As you might be able to tell from my expression, I was trying to move the treat into my mouth with my mind.

Finally, mommy handed it over.

Enjoying the fruits of my birthday!
